Barren Earth nennt sich das neue Projekt von Mitgliedern von Kreator, Moonsorrow, Swallow The Sun und Mannhai. Die Band wurde bereits im Herbst 2007 in Helsinki gegründet. Zu den Einflüssen zählen u.a. Paradise Lost, Opeth, Pink Floyd und Jethro Tull.

The melodic metal band Barren Earth was formed in Helsinki in the autumn of 2007. The music combines elements of modern and traditional (death) metal, with 70's prog rock and folk.
