Nachdem sie gerade ihre aktuelle Tournee mit Shows auf den Traffic Jam, Dour und Deichbrand Festivals begonnen haben, kündigen Sick Of It All nun die Veröffentlichung ihres kommenden Albums "The Last Act Of Defiance" am 26. September 2014 an. Auf die Frage, welche Emotion das kommende Album beim Hörer wecken soll, antwortet Drummer Armand Majidi:
“I want them to feel that they just heard a hardcore record that has everything, from blistering speed to bouncing groove, to heavy and pounding to bright and melodic.”

Das prägnante Cover stammt von Ernie Parada, der bereits Poster, Merchandise und Artworks für etliche Bands und Künstler aus der Punk und Hardcore Szene gestaltet hat wie z.B. Hatebreed, Propagandhi, Rancid oder The Gaslight Anthem, um nur einige wenige zu nennen. “The Last Act Of Defiance“ entstand zusammen mit ihrem Freund und mittlerweile Haus und Hof Produzent Tue Madsen im Nova Studio in Staten Island, NY und wurde im Antfarm Studio in Dänemark gemixt.

Armand Majidi erklärt, warum Tue Madsen perfekt zu ihnen passt:
”Not only do we get along famously, but he has always understood how to capture the band’s intensity in the quietly controlled, less-than-intense studio setting. It was always difficult for us to find an engineer who could capture our live sound before meeting Tue, so now that we’ve found him, he’s our guy.”
